Special guest post from Kim R. on The Juice
MMCC/kimtri.jpg

I'd like to express a special thanks to MMCC for helping me get stronger and to Tony for loaning some FAST wheels....although I could have been faster on the bike, I did FEEL really fast...Thanks so much!!

Well, I finished the Santa Barbara triathlon long course and had a GREAT time!  I can't imagine a better way I could have spent my 40th birthday.  I got to play the star athlete where my friends played the die hard fans.  Troy was my coach starting the day before where he attended a clinic for first timers with me.  He actually got up at 4:30 am to see me to the transition area and take lots of pictures.  He documented how I got my age written all over my body in permanant marker - what a perfect way to snap myself into a new decade with enthusiasm:)  He continued to cheer with Jack, Lisa, Mike, and Kelly at the start, finish, and all transition points in between.   Friends and family called and texted their well wishes all day.  It really was an unbelieivable day.  It just felt incredible to actually participate in my first triathlon.  I'd been training and thinking about it for so long that it had become larger than life.   I could leave it at that if it weren't for the damn results page which shows I should probably stick to running.   Out of 809 people who finished (men and women all ages) here's how I stacked up..

Over all place - 497
Swimming place - 700 (very bad but really I was happy I wasn't the very last one)
Biking place - 564 (I thought I'd trained enough to do better but I felt GREAT and had a lot of fun)
Running place - 250 (couldn't be happier - it was A BLAST - the best feeling I could have hoped for - strong at the finish of my day. Bonus -  I got to pass a lot of younger chicks which was a 40th bday must

Out of my age group (women 40 - 44) I finished 18 out of 38.  Finishing was my first goal - Top half was my secret goal.

Slow Juice
The Juice has been busy working on the new kits.  Coordinating with the vendor and working on the design has proved to be very labor intensive!!  That's what we get for changing vendors again!  Hopefully we'll be really satisfied this time around and continue using the same vendor come re-design time.

Update:  We are awaiting the Fit Kit.  Once I have ETA, we will be meeting at Sammy's house.  Details will follow.

Who is this guy?

MMCC/p2blog3.jpg
Why is this guy smiling?

Well, I'm just one of the guys in Orange who happens to be the 'Web Dude'.  Hence I get to put whatever I want here!  I'm certainly not a Master web designer by any stretch of the imagination.  I just pretend to be and find this pretty fun to do!  Besides, somebody has to do this right?  I just hope my effort here helps get the word out about MMCC.  That's the whole point of our website.  Hopefully the information here brings new riders to the club or at the very least, new riders to the world of cycling.

As for my blog...who doesn't have one?  I'll just keep blogging away about everything and anything dealing with MMCC.  Thanks for stopping by!  Oh, and I like to ride my bike too.
