It's that time of the year again. Our annual MMCC picnic - right after the Tour de Poway at the Old Poway Park.
The Prez will be organizing the event along w/ all you volunteers. Make sure to sign up for picnic duties w/ him.
Due to the picnic, many members will only be doing the Metric Century in order to get back in time to setup. Please
coordinate your efforts with Prez Mike. Look for our tent/banner at the park.

On that note, this year's Tour de Poway's route has been changed from previous years. Highland Valley
and Bandy Canyon Roads have been removed from the route. The route now rides mostly on HW78. For more information
on the TdP, visit their site at:
www.tourdepoway.com
On more exciting news, our new kits should be ready
for its big debut at the TdP. So make sure you're registered for this event and make Orange proud! I'll
post pick-up info once that has been determined.
The Amtrak ride turned out to be a great event for MMCC. There are alot of memories from this ride and I'll try
to recount most of them. But the Juice was running out of juice at mile 91 so my accounts of the event may not be accurate!!
So where to start?? How about with these two guys:

Ness V - our official team car photographer!

Manny S - Official SAG team car driver / motivator / bike holder.
Thanks to these two guys, MMCC never
had to worry about anything (except actually pedaling!). Even if you couldn't pedal, they had 3 seats available
in the SAG car for sight seeing purposes. The funny part is that they mentioned two seats were already reserved after
mile 2!! Come to find out that Roger and Manny A. had already made these arrangements way in advance!
Let's
see...congrats to Flint and Ed for completing their first Century ever! Both actually went all the way to the finish
in downtown SD. Great job. Here's Flint leading the Orange train down the coast (his well earned Orange jersey
is on its way):

Also, if all you guys (and gals) noticed there was no head wind during the entire route, that's because Tony
was always at the front creating a draft for us:

If you try to stay with Tony, you will end up burning your legs. That's what happened to Joe who can
be seen here airing out his 'legs' during a break:

After that break, Raffy decided that the best place for him to display his speed is on I-5 South...notice there's
not much Orange left in the train. I believe Raffy asked our SAG car to move out of the way at one point. It was
slowing him down.

Cool picture of the entire MMCC Orange train. Note Raffy is not in this picture...he's probably
with Tony at Agent Al's house waiting.

Speaking of Agent Al...here's the man of the day. He was also the man of the evening for hosting the
post-ride meal at his Secret HQ.

Also, great job to Manny A. who looked really strong during the ride. He was so strong right before
Torrey Pines that he decided its not worth his time. The Juice was trying hard to catch him so that I could turn 'left'
with him...but missed the turn and ended up going up Torrey. Manny A. is my hero:

Oh yea, congrats again to Ed for finishing his first century despite a bum knee. Here he is in his
secret black training kit:

Allan N. and Jerry trying to figure out how to stay with Raffy and Tony. There's just no legal way to
do that!!

It must be good to be the Prez of MMCC. Mango Mike posing with the MMCC biker chics. Yes Rosalie,
you are considered Orange now.

I do not know how Scott got this shot of El Kap. The angle + how close he was + he's probably riding
his bike + he's not looking where he's going make Scott the ultimate Media Man. He is also known to stop on
a dime (while in the peloton) while the peloton is going about 30mph just to take pics. Do not try this at home.

And finally (yes I know I missed alot of pictures...there were over 200 to look thru), here's how Agent Al
is able to go riding every day and host buffet's at his house for the club. That's a job well done!!
